Overwhelmed About Year 12? You’re Not Alone.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed as the end of Year 12 comes closer and closer, you’re not failing or falling behind. You’re human.
Finishing school is a big transition. There’s pressure to have a plan, to know what’s next, to answer everyone asking, “So, what are you doing next year?” It’s completely normal to feel like it’s a lot.
Here are a few ways to slow down and support yourself:
✨ Take a breath.
You don’t have to have it all figured out right now. It’s okay to take things one day at a time.
✨ Set small, bite-sized goals.
Instead of “sort out my future,” try “research one course I’m interested in” or “update my resume.” Small steps add up.
✨ Focus on your wellbeing.
Sleep, move your body, spend time with people who make you feel good, and take breaks from social media if it’s adding pressure.
✨ Remember, there’s no ‘one right path.’
Everyone’s journey after school looks different. You can change your mind, try different things, and take your time.
✨ One foot in front of the other.
You don’t need to sprint into the next chapter. Just keep moving gently in the direction you want to go.
