Ready or not? Let’s find out

Listening to the Voices of Young Women

At Citrine Career Co, we believe in supporting young women to grow in confidence, build clarity, and develop the life skills they need to thrive in a world that’s constantly evolving. That’s why we’ve launched a short, anonymous survey — to hear directly from young women who have recently completed Year 12 about how prepared they feel to step into adulthood.

The Transition After School Is Big — and Often Overwhelming

Leaving high school marks a major life shift. Suddenly, young women are expected to navigate the complexities of adulthood — from career choices and job interviews, to managing their money and making big life decisions. But are they really being prepared for it?

This survey is our way of listening deeply before acting. Before we design more programs, tools, or resources, we want to make sure we understand what young women are experiencing - and what support they wish they had.

What We’re Exploring

This survey seeks to explore four key areas:

  • Financial Literacy — How confident do young women feel managing money, budgeting, and understanding the financial systems they’re about to step into?

  • Career and Employment Preparedness — Do they feel ready to find, apply for, and succeed in a job or further study?

  • Independent Living — Are they confident in taking care of themselves — emotionally, practically, financially?

  • A Life on Their Own Terms — Do they feel empowered to make choices that align with who they are and what they want?

We’re also looking to identify gaps in education, programs, and support that could help ease this transition and equip young women to step into adulthood with greater strength and self-assurance.

Why This Matters

Too often, young women are left to figure things out on their own. While schools do an incredible job academically, many young people leave without practical knowledge around finances, career pathways, or building a future with intention and self-belief.

By collecting insights directly from young women who’ve just experienced this transition, we hope to design more relevant, empowering programs that bridge these gaps, and support them in building lives full of purpose, independence, and possibility.

Who Can Participate?

The survey is open to young women who have completed Year 12 within the past 2 years.
